An integrated software architecture for the pollution-based real-time control of urban drainage systems

Abstract This paper presents a complete methodology for the development of an integrated software architecture, which can achieve closed-loop application between real-time control (RTC) and virtual reality simulation urban drainage system (UDS). Quality measurements are considered during optimization process. Model predictive (MPC) rule-based (RBC) two main RTC methods embedded in this architecture. The proposed integration environment allows different components to efficiently effectively communicate work system-wide way, as well execute all necessary steps regarding input parameter management, scenario configuration results extraction. approaches implemented into pilot based on Badalona UDS (Spain). Results from scenarios with individual rain episodes evaluated discussed.
